Roma are averaging 2.1 goals per match this season, putting them on course for one of their highest ever goals-per-game returns in a single league campaign. The Giallorossi have finished the season with an average of two or more goals scored just seven times since 1927 and have never bettered 2.03 – achieved in 1998-99 – since three points for a win were introduced. The club record of 2.56 goals per game was set in 1930-31, the same year the Giallorossi secured their record goals haul for a season – 87. Roma's second and third highest-scoring seasons were 1928-29 and 1929-30, with averages of 2.37 and 2.15 goals respectively.

Edin Dzeko has now struck four goals in his last six league matches, taking his tally for the season to nine, with seven in Serie A. Sunday's game against Udinese was the third time the Bosnian has opened the scoring this season, following the derby against Lazio and the recent home fixture against Palermo. Dzeko has four goals from his last three Serie A starts, having hit the target against Carpi, Palermo (twice) and Udinese.

The Giallorossi have found the net 11 times in the opening 15 minutes of matches this season – the same number of goals they have conceded in the last quarter of an hour of play. In fact, they have let in more goals in the last 15 minutes of games than in the whole first half (10), which accounts for 36% of their total conceded goals. Roma have let in 20 goals in the second period – exactly double the amount of the first half.

Udinese are the side Roma have beaten most often away from home in Serie A, winning 17 of their 42 trips to Udine, or 40%. The Giallorossi have a higher percentage of wins – one every two games – only at Bari and Parma. Sunday's success means Roma have now recorded six consecutive wins against Udinese home and away, a feat they last achieved between March 1984 and November 1986.

Thanks to the two goals scored at the Stadio Friuli, Roma have reached the 60-goal mark in Serie A with eight games to spare – a figure they have managed over the entire season only two times in the last five years. The Giallorossi have found their scoring boots in the second half of the season: They averaged 1.89 goals per game in their first 19 league fixtures; since Week 20 they're on 2.50.

Sunday's meeting at the Stadio Friuli was the 90th between Roma and Udinese in all competitions and coincided with the Giallorossi's eighth straight league win – something they hadn't managed since 2013-14.

Just like Daniele De Rossi in 2006, Radja Nainggolan celebrated his 100th competitive appearance for Roma with a victory against Udinese. He is the 147th player to reach a tonne of games with the Giallorossi and he now sits level with Giampaolo Menichelli and Loris Boni. He could overtake the likes of Arne Selmosson (101), Giovanni Degni (102), Valerio Spadoni (103), Giuseppe Tamborini (103), Toninho Cerezo (104), Alberto Eliani (105) and Pierino Prati (108) before the season is out. Besides Francesco Totti (Atalanta 0-4 Roma, 15 May 1997) and the already mentioned De Rossi (Udinese 1-4 Roma, 22 January 2006), the other current Roma players to have previously reached the 100-match milestone are Miralem Pjanic (Empoli 0-1 Roma, 13 September 2014) and Alessandro Florenzi (Roma 0-2 Manchester City, 10 December 2014).

Luciano Spalletti claimed win number 130 in all competitions as Giallorossi boss against his former club Udinese, simultaneously earning his 130th point on the road. The Tuscan tactician remains behind second behind Nils Liedholm – on 191 – for all-time number of wins. Since returning to the Roma dugout in January, Spalletti has claimed 25 of 30 available points.

Alessandro Florenzi celebrated his 160th senior appearance for Roma with his 20th Serie A goal. The Italy man, who captained the side in Udine, is 16 games away from his 150th league game for the Giallorossi.
