Calvarese to referee Roma v Torino

Gianpaolo Calvarese has been appointed to referee Roma’s Serie A Week 34 match against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday at 20:45 CET

It will be the eighth time the Giallorossi have been officiated by the Abruzzo-born official. As things stand, Roma’s record under Calvarese reads four wins and three defeats. Calvarese’s first match in charge of Roma was the 2-0 defeat away at Palermo on 30 March 2013, while the most recent was the 2-0 win at Sassuolo on 2 February 2016, when Mohamed Salah and Stephan El Shaarawy struck for Luciano Spalletti’s men.

Calvarese was also in charge as Roma lost 2-0 to Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico on 29 November 2015, while three more wins complete the Giallorossi’s record under the official – the 2-0 win over Sampdoria on 25 September 2013 courtesy of goals from Medhi Benatia and Gervinho, the 4-0 home defeat of Genoa on 12 January 2014, when Alessandro Florenzi, Francesco Totti, Maicon and Benatia grabbed the goals, and the 3-0 home win over Chievo on 18 October 2014 – Mattia Destro, Adem Ljajic and Totti were the names on the scoresheet that day.

Calvarese will be assisted by Marco Barbirati and Giacomo Paganessi, while Giuseppe Stallone is on fourth official duties. Piero Giacomelli and Daniele Minelli will be the additional assistants.
