AS Roma Expand Digital Footprint to Medium

As part of a “digital revolution” within the club, AS Roma became the first football club to join social publishing platform Medium this week. I find it an interesting tactical move to shift some of a team’s content publishing from their owned website to a third-party platform, but this quote from Roma’s Head of Digital Media Paul Rogers really struck with me:

I find it an interesting tactical move to shift some of a team’s content publishing from their owned website to a third-party platform, but this quote from Roma’s Head of Digital Media Paul Rogers really struck with me:

“Medium is the perfect platform for Roma because it encourages, enables and promotes great storytelling and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do – tell great stories.”

I’m looking forward to seeing the stories they tell, especially how they celebrate Francesco Totti’s upcoming final season, and any lessons learned from the platform. It will be interesting to see if other teams follow their lead and join as well
