Roma drew 3-3 against Austria Wien in Matchday 3 of the Europa League. The Giallorossi stay top of Group E on five points, level with their Austrian counterparts.

Here are five facts and figures from Thursday's game at the Stadio Olimpico.

1

Thorsten Fink - who scored two for Karlsruhe in a 3-0 win over the Giallorossi in 1996 - and Roma drew for the first time. If we focus solely on his meetings with Roma as a coach, the pair have met on five occasions in European competitions - all in the group stage. The numbers now read as follows: two victories for Roma, two for Fink (with Basel) and one draw, which came on Thursday night.

2

Stephan El Shaarawy's two goals against Austria Wien saw him score his first ever brace in Europe. The Giallorossi forward had found net in the Europa League with Monaco back in 2015.

5

Roma picked a midfield comprising an Argentine and a Brazilian for only the second time - five years on from the previous occasion. The two countries - among the global game's superpowers - were represented against Austria Wien by Brazilian Gerson and Argentina's Leandro Paredes. Brazil's Fabio Simplicio joined up with Argentine Fernando Gago under Luis Enrique in the 2011-12 season.

Roma haven't two European matches in a row for six years. Back in 2010, they won 3-2 at Basel in the Champions League, before edging another five-goal thriller against Bayern Munich in the capital three weeks later. They nearly repeated the trick against Astra Giurgiu and Austria Wien but their efforts went awry in the final two minutes, as the latter scored twice to level matters at 3-3. Pity.

100

Francesco Totti made his 100th appearance in UEFA competition for Roma against Austria Wien. The Giallorossi captain also saw his feat recognised by the official Europa League Twitter account with a graphic showing Totti as a gladiator inside an arena. The accompanying text read: "Bravo Roma gladiator Francesco Totti, 100 games in UEFA club competitions."

The wait goes on, meanwhile, for the 100th goal with Luciano Spalletti in charge. Next time maybe.
