Dzeko hails Alisson save after 10-man victory

Two-goal hero Edin Dzeko was full of praise for goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the wake of Roma's 4-1 win over Chievo Verona - citing his save as a turning point in the game.

The Giallorossi were already 2-0 up - one of those goals courtesy of Dzeko - when Juan Jesus was sent off early in the second half, and a penalty awarded to the visitors.

But Alisson made a vital stop to repel Roberto Inglese's attempt - and Roma went on to score twice more in a comfortable eventual win.

“Credit goes to Alisson for saving the penalty – if they had scored then the game could have ended up going very differently," Dzeko said.

"It was a huge save, very important for the team.”

Now you face Liverpool...

“We will prepare for it well, starting with the coach. Today we have won and we hope to put in another great performance on Wednesday – we need to.”

Is Sean Cox in your thoughts?

“Of course, we are all thinking about him and his family – these sort of things should never be a part of football.”
