Members of the club’s youth academy, and those of other affiliated junior clubs, will receive easy-to-understand lessons on the basics of first response and defibrillation, aimed at arming them with the skills to respond in the right way should they be involved in an emergency situation.
As part of the lessons, delivered by qualified medical experts, the kids will take part in various exercises, designed to equip them with skills, knowledge and experience that could save lives.
All the clubs involved will also receive defibrillators.
“We are very proud to lend our sport to this important project,” said Daniele Frongia, Minister for Sport at Roma Capitale. “This initiative could give the youngsters the tools to potentially save the lives of their teammates.”
Roma managing director Mauro Baldissoni added: “We are extremely pleased to launch this new Roma Cares initiative. We have always felt our foundation can be an instrument to help fulfil the responsibility we feel to the city. Investing in health and safety is another way we can do this.”
