Roma agree Rudiger transfer

The club can confirm that a deal has been agreed with Chelsea FC for the permanent transfer of defender Antonio Rudiger.

Chelsea will pay an initial fee of €35 million for the Germany international. The deal includes various performance-related clauses, for both the Premier League club and the player, worth an additional €4m.

Rudiger spent two seasons with the Giallorossi, joining on an initial loan deal from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart ahead of the 2015-16 season. At the end of the campaign his signing was made permanent for a fee of €9m.

In total the 24-year-old made 72 appearances for Roma in all competitions, scoring two goals.

Last season he made 26 league appearances as the Giallorossi finished second in Serie A.

The club would like to thank Antonio for his service and wish him well for the future.
