Fabio Capello believes his former club Roma have made strides forward this summer after some strong work in the transfer market.
Speaking to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the coach of the Giallorossi’s third – and most recent – Scudetto triumph revealed his confidence in the work done by Luciano Spalletti and his staff.
“With Roma, I am convinced that their moves in the market have added the right players to the squad,” Capello said, going on to point to the addition of Thomas Vermaelen in particular.
“If Roma can get him fit, after some injuries, he will be a great success,” Capello added. “He’s a really good player.”
Capello managed Roma for five seasons between 1999 and 2004, winning the title in 2000-01.
