With a number of the senior squad away on international duty - and others adhering to specialised individual training programmes - the rest of the senior squad came together with Alberto De Rossi's youth side for a brief training session followed by a 75-minute friendly contest.
The senior group won thanks to penalties from Diego Perotti and Kevin Strootman, with the Primavera briefly on level terms thanks to Riccardo Cappa.
The game saw Kostas Manolas make a brief appearance as he continues his recuperation from a broken nose, as Spalletti also experimented with a 3-4-3 shape.
