The striker was the star of the show at the Mapei Stadium, scoring twice in the second half to erase the Giallorossi's early deficit and steer them into a winning position. Radja Nainggolan then rounded off the scoring soon after.
Dzeko, who now has 10 goals for the campaign, admitted afterwards that the side had been found wanting slightly in the first half but produced an emphatic display in the second stanza.
“I feel good and I'm scoring goals for the team," he said. "We won a really tough match today and we're all delighted.
“We didn't play well in the first half. They were more aggressive than us and that made things difficult. We played with more character after the break and there was only one team in it.”
With Roma cheered on by a wealth of travelling fans, Dzeko added: "If we want to be successful and win games we need everyone pulling in the same direction. It's easier with our fans behind us.”
Roma remain two points behind Juventus in the Serie A standings, alone in second as we reach the quarter-mark of the campaign.
“We have to take each game as it comes," Dzeko added. "It was hard today because Sassuolo are a good team with a good coach but we got three goals and we deserved to win.”
